[2011.09.20] Today, an open press conference was held at the Seoul Press Center announcing the nominees of the Korea Drama Awards. The good news is, Kim Hyun Joo [MBC Drama "Twinkle Twinkle"] was nominated as Best Star of the Year (Women's Division) along with Gong Hyo Jin [MBC Drama "The Greatest  Love"], Park Min Young [KBS 2TV drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" and SBS drama "City Hunter"] and Ha Ji Won [SBS drama "Secret Garden"].

All of them are good actresses and they have shown remarkable performances in their respective dramas. In my own opinion, it sure is a tough competition. Our dear Hyun Joo did a very good job in "Twinkle Twinkle" and I think she deserves something worth all her hard work. I hope you support her all the way. =)

The winners of the Korea Drama Awards will be announced on October 2, 2011 at Kyungnam Culture and Arts Center in Jinju, Kyungsangnam-do.

An Interview with Kim Hyun Joo on Twinkle Twinkle's Success

The gist of the interview:

"The shooting of Twinkle Twinkle has been particularly hard for me, but it holds special meanings to me," Kim Hyun Joo said. As a bright and bubbly JW who experienced drastic changes in life but eventually achieved success, Kim Hyun Joo has successfully portrayed the outstanding and exceptional JW according to what the scriptwriter has perceived her to be. Twinkle Twinkle was the only one MBC drama which broke the 20% rating over the past 7 years and emerged as the winner among weekend dramas.

Ah~.. How time flies. I didn't notice it has already ended. But before that happy ending, let's see the twists and turns they've gone through.

Korean Drama Twinkle Twinkle's Kim Seok Hoon and Kim Hyun Joo's Last Sad Farewell Dinner

Kim Seok Hoon (Song Seung Joon) and Kim Hyun Joo (Han Jung-Won) eventually celebrated farewell.

Got this story from a Korean site. I'm sorry I only understand a few Korean but this is how it goes.

This episode was aired on the 16th of July as the two were getting ready for dinner. The couple's situation gets worse that it has come to them like a big deal with adversity. How can't it be worse when there's Hwang Geum Ran who also likes Seung Joon? And the fact that both of their families don't like their relationship makes it more painful.

Seung Joon eventually chose to surrender rather than facing the adversity. He wants to part ways with Jung Won. He said those words with teary eyes.

Jung Won tries to hold on but Seung Joon didn't change his mind. He loves Jung Won so much that he had to let go of her so that she won't get hurt. It ended up hitting a sad goodbye.

Meanwhile, I've read some speculations from other KDrama sites that in the end, Seung Joon reluctantly decided to become a loan shark. The statement raised viewers' questions about whether he really turned into a loan shark or not. Curious? Let's find out how the story will go on the 17th.

Korean Drama Twinkle Twinkle Extends Four More Episodes

It was confirmed that the MBC weekend drama Twinkle Twinkle will extend four episodes. MBC announced on the 13th that they have negotiated with the actors and actresses and decided to extend four more episodes.

Kim Hyun Joo is being sued for approximately $274,000 by her management

Kim Hyun Joo has gone under dispute with her management company. This isn't the first controversy our dear Kim Hyun Joo has gone through.

The H Entertainment (Kim Hyun Joo's management), stated that:

Kim Hyun Joo unilaterally cancelled her contract in the middle of June.

According to SportsChosun, the management have filed a claim to the Seoul Southern District Court for approximately $274,000 USD.

This is what the H Entertainment wrote in the complaint:

we started off as a manager and actress in 2005 and the relationship lead to partnership starting from November of 2009. However, problem between us arose when balancing contracting fees for MBC's "Shiny Shiny Shining", and Kmi Hyun Joo notified us of unilaterally cancelling her contract with us around the middle of June. In ending our partnership, we request approximately $274,000 USD of which she exceedingly received from total profits.

Kim Hyun Joo has gained much popularity ever since MBC's "Shiny Shiny Shining" has started airing. She returned to her acting career after one year and six months.

We have no idea why Kim Hyun Joo has decided to part ways with The H Entertainment. The management must have done something wrong that made her cancel her contract. We hope that the two parties will settle things down nicely.
